Introduction

This is the home of North Devon Road Runners.

We are a friendly group of people who simply love running. We run for fun, for fitness, for weight loss and for speed. Why ever we run, we run with a smile on our faces. Why not come and join us? We welcome people of all abilities. We meet at the Tarka Tennis Centre every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm. Come along and join us for a week or two before joining and experience one of the friendliest running clubs around.

About Us

Our club is based in Barnstaple, North Devon. We meet at the Tarka Tennis Centre and have use their facilities, including a meeting area, changing rooms, showers and a cafe with bar.

Our aim

To enjoy the sport of running with an emphasis on enjoyment, that is not to say that we don't take the sport seriously. We recognise not everyone wants to be involved in competitive racing and may just be looking at running to provide a better level of fitness and a social scene to go with it. For those who are competitive; coaching, training and encouragement is given to ensure club members performances are enhanced.

How active are we?

In addition to our regular Tuesday group runs and Thursday coaching sessions;

The club organises it's own races including, the Braunton (10 Mile & 10k), Arlington Court Canter (10k & 5k), Hartland Hartbreaker (18 & 8 miles), Jewsons Barnstaple Marathon & Half Marathon and The Nightmare at Arlington (10k & 5k).

We run a winter series of 10k Handicap Races from the Tarka Tennis Centre and which sees every entrant having a equal chance of winning.

We send multiple teams of all abilities to the Summer League Relays and compete with clubs based across North Devon..

We organise trips to multiple local races and provide at least one overseas club trip a year.

Why should I join?

Apart from the fact that you might enjoy the company of like-minded people, instead of always running on your own, benefits that come with membership include:

Discount at sports retailers.

Reduced entry fees for any race that is organised under UKA rules.

Opportunity to enter the club ballot place/s for the Virgin Money London Marathon (Club Rules apply).

History of the club

The club has been in existence for more than 20 years
