The Perth Ultrafest, held at North Inch Park, Perth on the weekend of 4th to 5th September comprised a series of ultra distance events consisting of a relay race, 50km, 100km and a 24 hour Home Counties event, writes Norman Wilson.
The International Team 24hr event attracted entries from top English and Scottish Ultra-Distance athletes. Starting at 10.00 am with fine weather, a light wind and an excellent 2.3km looped course through the park conditions were perfect for some fine performances and supporters and spectators were not to be disappointed.
In the Ladies' race Angie Sadler (England) led from start to finish, and in so doing recorded a personal best in the process. Vicky Skelton (England) began to reduce the lead in the last quarter of the race but Sadler's lead was sufficient to ensure she clinched the title.
