A new club committee to be elected at the AGM
This year's club AGM will not be a run of the mill affair - quite a number of committee members are standing down, most notably Micky Turner, who has served as club secretary for more than twenty years. Mike Philips has agreed to stand for election. We have had no other nominations for this, the main post, but there are a number of other positions which still need to be filled. You might like to either stand for election yourself or nominate another suitable candidate.
This is fairly obviously an important meeting for the club, so I would urge you to make every effort to be there. It is hoped to start the meeting at 8 pm, so if you want to get a run in beforehand, you will have to be down at the club early that night.
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I thought it would be useful for all club members to have available the minutes of last year's AGM and the agenda for our meeting on 28th February.

AGM / Committee thoughts
Mike Phillips has let me have a few thoughts about possible changes to the structure of the committee which were discussed at a recent meeting :
At the last Committee meeting we discussed at length the various roles which need to be fulfilled by the committee.
The following positions were identified and all members are invited to make applications to these positions.
Chairperson Secretary Treasurer Welfare Officer
Press Officer Web Officer Race Committee Representative
Coaching Team Representative Membership Secretary Ladies Captain
Men's Captain Ladies vice-Captain Men's vice-Captain
Health & Safety Officer Events Officer
It was noted that some of these roles could be held by the same person.
The aim for the committee moving forwards is that all the roles are actively pursued and the needs of club members are met.
Please consider if you can give your expertise to the Club and make an application in good time prior to the AGM on the 28th February. Feel free to discuss with the current committee the duties required in each position.
